What everyone must know about critical thinking
Critical
thinking: Critical
thinking means that the skill you apply to get information. Which tends to
develop a deeper understanding. To make a complete assessment of the
information, it is reaching you.
Evaluation
of information: A complete evaluation means checking
the reliability of information and finding out what practical benefit this
information is for us.
Simply put,
What is Critical Thinking?
Critical thinking means that the information that is coming
to you has to be analyzed properly. He has to be inspected properly.
For
example, someone should tell you that your ear is going with a crow. What would you do?
You will start to run after the crow without thinking or
inspecting your ear. Your answer will be that you will observe.
Critical thinking also means that when the information that is
coming to us, we will first examine it.
Thousands of information come to us and you.
Information comes through TV, through WhatsApp, through
YouTube, through Facebook, and also through social media platforms.
Even though you, information is coming through them. Analyze
this information to know what is said in it.
You are not being fooled by this information. Also, read...
Why do Critical Thinking?
Critical thinking is necessary to check the veracity of the
information that is coming to us. If we do not pay attention to this, then it
will be difficult to distinguish between wrong and right.
Contribution
to making information critical
Some things have an important contribution to making
information critical, which makes us do critical thinking. In this way, all
information should be taken as critical thinking.
The prevalence
of wrong information: In society, wrong information is very popular. This wrong information has not only started raising its head today, but ever since the world
started printing, wrong information has been appearing and flourishing in society since then.
Information
revolution: In today's time, the revolution of
information has come with the Internet. Everyone is connecting with the
Internet. Due to which a lot of information is available to every person.
They have also started sharing the information received with the people. Since
internet data has become cheaper, since then every person has access
or access.
Due to data becoming cheaper, there are many people who have
started using the Internet for the first time. Many people in such persons
are less read-write.
People who are using the net for the first time or are less
educated. They do not understand right and wrong information. They do not know
how to check thousands of information that are reaching them.
These people share the information with other people without
checking/understanding it.
Rumor: Sometimes a message is circulated that has no credibility, and this type of information causes harm to society.
Such incidents happen from time to time.
Like - a rumor spread that some
people are carrying children. This rumor/misinformation triggered such a fire
that people beat many people to death based on suspicion. This happened
only because of incorrect information.
Misuse of
social media and news channels: Some people
air the wrong information and share it on social media, like Twitter,
YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. Makes news, so that the wrong news also
appears to the people.
When the credibility of this news is tested, people speak
and have heard from the news channel, and the news people speak that people have
said.
Meaning it becomes difficult to find out where this
information is circulated and what the basis of the information?
How to do critical thinking?
Verifying the correctness of the information is a skill, in which four factors are important: -
1-Look
with suspicion: If any information is coming to
you indirectly through other means, then it is mandatory to reveal the doubt to
check its truth. If you are not expressing a doubt, it means that you are
accepting the veracity of that information. There is a saying that the
credentials are valid. That is, no proof is required for direct. But what is
indirect? It needs proof.
2-Using logic
properly: A lot of information comes from your
surroundings. Many things have been said in them. And that thing is said based on something else. Everywhere you try to persuade someone.
So do you agree?
Here you see on what basis it has been said. On what facts
has it been said? What is the evidence for that? If someone tells you that you
will die, then you will definitely ask what is the basis of this? What's the
fact? What is the proof? So its basis, fact, and evidence are that we and you
are one human, and a human dies. This conclusion was based on the premise that
all human beings die. Therefore, we and you too will die. It will be called
logic.
There are
three parts to the argument: 1-basis, 2-conclusion, and 3-relation between premise
and conclusion.
3-Seeing the language of incoming information: Some
information like this
In which there is the
rudeness of language. Inflammatory language is used. This hurts some specific
people. Sharing or accepting such information is equivalent to promoting.
Therefore, it is very important to see the language of any information that
reaches us.
4- Developing an understanding: One
important thing about critical thinking is that an understanding is developed.
There is definitely something special in the information that reaches us. Due
to the special qualities contained in it, understanding develops.
What is the benefit of critical thinking?
Critical Thinking is a
powerful medium through which to solve complex problems. Because critical
thinking is a skill. Critical Thinking has a basis. Critical thinking is done
by expressing doubt about the information. Critical thinking is done on the basis
of logic. Critical thinking is done by observing the language in the given
information. Critical thinking is done by reviewing the objective of the given
information. Read more......
The conclusion
Whatever kind of
information we are communicating with someone, it should be verified based on the scale of criticality thinking.
